The system and its cooling material

CarbonCool®
The passive medical cooling system, cleared in ten markets, using pre-frozen MPads in a prescribed patient configuration.
HypoCarbon®
The phase-change material inside every MPad, with a thermal conductivity of 35 W/mK, 15× that of frozen water.

02 / Mechanism

How passive heat exchange works

  1. 01

    Prepare and position

MPads are frozen according to the instructions for use, then placed in holders in the prescribed configuration.

  2. 02

    Transfer heat

The HypoCarbon® composite conducts heat through the MPad™ while the holder keeps the frozen unit off bare skin.

  3. 03

    Monitor separately

Clinicians use a separate core-temperature monitor and follow the instructions for use and local protocol.
